Hump Day Hurrah (or why my girlfriend rocks - part1)
Disclaimer: Some parts of this post may make you nauseous. If you're allergic to baby talk or public displays of affection, consult your doctor before reading.

I may have mentioned that Tuesday I was taking a few hours off work to finish up at the apartment. Or maybe not, don't remember and I'm not gonna go check but anyways, yeah, planned to be done with the move Tuesday night. Of course that's not how it happened. Due to circumstances beyond my control, there was still a fair bit of work left to do when we left the apartment Tuesday night. There was crankiness. There was stress. And then there was Wednesday....

So, lemme tell ya bout hump day, shall I? Alarm went off at 5:30. Hit the snooze, rolled over, zzzz. Cristin gets up. I assumed she was goin to the bathroom. Teensy bladder on that one. She comes back an undetermined amount of time later, alarm goes off again, snooze again, snuggle up and more zzz. Finally actually get up at 6. Sit up, Cristin leans over, says "I made you coffee" and hands me a big ol mug o heaven. Mmmmm... sweet, sweet caffeine. Now that right there was enough to make my day. But was she done? Oh no....

I get ready for work, kiss my girl bye, head downstairs and put my coat on. At which time I discover homemade biscotti and a note in my pocket. Awwwww!! But wait, it gets even better...

While I'm at work, she goes to the apartment and finishes everything. Done. No more cranky, no more stress.

And THEN, I come home to a celebratory dinner of filet mignon! Wrapped in BACON! And baked potatos and green beans and wine!! Have I mentioned that Cristin is a vegetarian? Yes. My girlfriend the vegitarian cooked me a slab o cow wrapped in pig to celebrate the fact that she busted her ass and finished my apartment. And it was soooooo good. And she rented movies too. And I got nookie. And ice cream!!

Yeah, this one's a keeper. Fo sho.

    One down...

Welp, half the holiday season is over. Huzzah! Christmas Eve was pretty much as expected. Beer and banter. And of course we just had to throw in some political commentary. Just for fun ya know. It all started about 3 seconds after I got to mom's. I'm all "Merry Christmas" and my step dad starts in with "Oh, you can't SAY that anymore. It's merry HOLIDAYS now." Blah blah blah. Um, hello Mr. 50-something-year-old-athiest-man-living-in-sin. When's the last time you stepped foot in a church? Quit your bitchin! So that argument lasted all of 2 minutes. But of course had to be repeated when Tony arrived. He does believe in God tho, so I went with the freedom of-and-from religion argument. And won again. Cause I'm good ya know. We managed not to get into any gay rights issues, but the brief foray into women's rights almost shut the party down. Luckily it was late enough in the evening for me to bite my tongue and focus on not falling off my chair. Heh.

Cristin and I celebrated on the 23rd. She got me lots of good stuff. New pillows, new sheets, coffee maker, grover book, etc etc. I don't know how great I did with the gift giving, but she was impressed with the bedside water cooler. Go me!

The move is goin pretty well. The washer and dryer will be taken care of this afternoon, along with the desk, so all that's left to do is pack the few scattered remains of my life in export and clean the place up a bit. My lovely girlfriend worked her buns off yesterday in the house, movin all the unpacked stuff upstairs to make room for the party Friday, AND having dinner ready when I got home. *swoon* Plus she helped me at the apartment after dinner, gettin rid of about 3 tons of junk and packin up a blazer load of stuff. Oh, and she did my laundry too. She rocks yo. You so jealous! I'm planning on leavin work at 2:30 this afternoon and finishing up at the apartment. Not leaving until everything is done. Should only take a few hours I'd think, then its back to the house for some couch snugglin and movie watchin. And maybe pizza. In celebration ya know ;o)
