- Well I got the station up! Woot!! You can go here to listen. I'm not entirely happy with the line up, but it'll improve as I get more submisssions.
| You are 50% geek | You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

- Pissed off dyke rant. Heard about the Florida lawsuit decision today. What the fuck is wrong with these people? How many thousands of kids are waiting to be adopted? You can make any fucking argument you want. You think kids do better with hetero parents? Fine. The studies say otherwise, but whatever. They do better with parents that are married? Yeah well that a whole NOTHER topic, but fine there too. Need male and female role models, queer parents make queer kids, other kids'll make fun of them, fine, fine, fine. Whatever fucking bullshit excuse you can come up with will NOT change the fact that having parents that love and care for you is better than being raised by the state. I don't give a flying FUCK what your opinion of homosexuality is. You cannot convince me that the state will do a better job with these kids than the men that have rasied and loved them for years. And this is FLORIDA we're talking about. Member not all that long ago, they fucking LOST how many kids in the foster care system? I urge you to visit www.lethimstay.com. Take a look around. Read the testimonials. Then come back here and tell me how this decision supports family values.
You are Form 5, Dragon: The Weaver.
"And The Dragon seperated the virtuous from
the sinful. He tore his eyes from his sockets
and used them to peer into the souls of those
on trial to make a judgement. He knew that
with endless knowledge came endless
responsibility."
Some examples of the Dragon Form are Athena
(Greek), St. Peter (Christian), and Surya
(Indian).
The Dragon is associated with the concept of
intelligence, the number 5, and the element of
wood.
His sign is the crescent moon.
As a member of Form 5, you are an intelligent and
wise individual. You weigh options by looking
at how logical they are and you know that while
there may not always be a right or wrong
choice, there is always a logical one. People
may say you are too indecisive, but it's only
because you want to do what's right. Dragons
are the best friends to have because they're
willing to learn.

- Well good morning! And what a wonderful day it is. 19°. Blah. Winter sucks. On to the news o the day. Got up an hour early this morn for reasons unknown, picked up a cappacchino on the way to work (mmmm), checked my email upon arrival and got my morning dose of drama. Nothing much, Kev is havin boy issues, they had a big fight, broke up, blah blah blah. Kev might come over tonight for moral support. Or the wing bar. I'm not sure which has the stronger pull, lol. Eth is having a little boy drama too. (read as SOME boy drama, not drama about a little boy. Eeks!) Something bout the guy he likes trying to hook him up with some other dude? I dunno. I haven't gotten the whole story yet. Speakin of Eth, his drunk ass called me last night from Images to inform me that some girl was asking about me. He's convinced she has the hots for me, I'm convinced she was just wondering where I was cuz it was girls night and I'm always down there hangin with the boys, lol. And even if she is interested I'm sure she's like 21. Or has a GF. Or has a BF. Or doesn't have a GF or BF, but has never dated before due to being raised in a convent by crazy fundamentalist nuns, or *insert dyke drama making scenerio here*. No thanks. I'm a busy girl, I don't have time for that kinda shit right now. (but of course you just KNOW I'm gonna be there next Wed right? Just in case. lol)
Not sure what the plans are for tonight. Kev may or may not come over. I may or may not go out. Typical Thursday morning, with not a freaking clue, lol. Ah well, I'll see what the day brings.

- Had planned on posting earlier in the day, but was feeling like shit and didn't wanna bring y'all down. Now I'm home and still feel like shit, but I got a shot o NyQuil in me and I'm drinking tea with brandy (the beverage, not the singer) so I expect an upturn in the immediate future. Actually don't have a whole lot to comment on. Haven't gotten much done on the station. I did post an ad on craigstlist and got 2 responses thus far, so thats pretty cool. I tried to start on the website today, but Word just wasn't cutting it. I'm either gonna have to spring for real site building software or learn HTML. I'm guessing I'll reach a compromise somewhere in the middle. Cheap ass software with a little HTML fiddling perhaps? I'll figure it out eventually, I'm nothing if not stubborn.
In other news, I met a new chat friend last night. She's actually local. Like 10 min down the road local. She's new to the area and hasn't been to the clubs yet, so we might meet up one of these nights so I can introduce her to da burgh. She's from DC, so I'll probably feel like I'm introducing my toothless cousin Rex from 'Bama, but hey, you'll have these things. Pittsburgh may not be the hippest city in the world but its my city damnit. And I dig it. Usualy. Unless I'm in Athens or Philly or Toronto or..... But still. My city. An I love her ;o)

"I Think"
I Think asshats are really a huge problem
I Think repubs are too much on my mind
I Think morons have got a lot to do with why the world sucks
But what can you do?
Like a yellow rain, beating down on me
Like a Emily Dickinson line, which won't let go of my brain
Like Krys's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya
I Think idiots are gonna drive us all crazy
And biblethumpers make me feel like a child
I Think sheep will eventually be the downfall of civilization
But what can you do? I said what can you do?
Like a yellow rain, beating down on me
Like a Emily Dickinson line, which won't let go of my brain
Like Krys's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya
Like a yellow rain, beating down on me
Like Krys's smile, cruel and cold
Like Emily Dickinson's ass, it is in my head
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya
Blame it on Dubya

- Blah. So my boss decided to send us all home early, due to the horrible weather. I left around 1:30 doin my little whoohoo free afternoon happy dance. Which lasted until I hit the back road I have to take on my way home. This road pretty much never sees a plow. Which usually isn't much of a problem for me, four wheel drive and all. But when you throw in a huge sheet of lumpy snow/ice thats frozen to the street because some asshat felt it necessary to plow all their driveway snow out INTO THE ROAD, you're just askin for trouble. Yep, hit said ice sheet and slid sideways into the guardrail. Piss me off. So now I have a big ol hole in my drivers side door and my quarter panel is trashed. Yep, little bit cranky now.
- Found an Advertising Slogan Generator today. Here are some of my favs:
Just Do Girlydyke.
Girlydyke: The Other White Meat.
My Doctor Says 'Girlydyke'.
Girlydyke-Lickin' Good.
Recommended By Dr. Girlydyke.
Ho Ho Ho, Green Girlydyke.
And my all time fav- Girlydyke Saves Your Soul.
- Had an uneventful evening last night. Went home, ate and lumped on the couch all night. I did download some software to try any get the logo thing for the site goin, but I didn't feel like pissin with it. No one was on to chat with, so I said to hell with it, went downstairs and had some pizza. Was in bed by 10, if you can believe that. I know, scary huh?
I posted on the Pheonix and Ms. Boards about the station, which I may or may not have mentioned. I got 2 replies on Ms.- one an offer of free CDs (woot!) from a musician that is no longer promoting her stuff, and one an offer for help with writing/reviewing/music searching and such. Lemme tell ya, if I had known I'd get free music out of this, I'da started a LONG time ago. I didn't get any response on the Pheonix, save a request for a link swap hen I get the site up. Not terribly surprised tho. Today I'm gonna play with the logo thing some more, see if I can at least get an in construction page up on the site, and look for more music. Doubt I'll get all that done, but worth a try right?

- This has to be the coolest cubicle even. I am needing that pull out hammock right bout now, lol.
- K, SO over this winter shit. Seriously. I need sunshine and warmth and a tan an such. Winter puts me in hibernation mode, so I wander around half asleep for 4 months straight. Sucks. Of course I wasn't too happy with the winterless year I spent in SC either, so maybe I just like to bitch. Ya think?
Watched the second episode of the L Word last night. I'm happy to report that there was no boy sex. At least no boy sex I noticed. I watched while working on the station/chattin with friends, so its quite possible I missed some huge lesbian faux pas, but I have to admit, what I saw I actually liked. I recognized a lot more in this episode, like the whole Alice ex "but she's changed" thing. And the group gaydar is she/isn't she trip to the restaurant. Except the fact that they got it wrong. I mean, I knew she was queer. She just thinks Shane's oogie. Who can blame her? I mean come on. Take a shower already. Ew. And some brilliant computer geek gal out there needs to start working on the degrees of lesbian seperation computer thingy. I am dying to know how many steps there are between me and Amy Ray :oP
Today will be spent searching for more music for the station and trying to come up with some sort of logo. Gotta love my job, ya know? I posted about the station on the pheonix and Ms. Boards, and so far have gotten one response. Which is better than I expected actually. Oh, I need to reconfigure my conforums account too, so we'll have a SisterSiren message board :) And I have to find a host for the webpage. Jeebus, I got a lot o work to do!
- So the station name has been choosen. SisterSiren Radio. Domain has been registered. Now the work comes. Hope I can make it what I envision. Must say I am way excited bout it tho. Is a dream realised :) Iff'n I can make it what I want it to be anyways. But Booya to me for trying. Will keep y'all updated. All like 3 of ya, lol.
