    Update
Yeah, yeah, I know I've been neglecting the whole life update kinda stuff on here. Lots been goin on in my head and I just been kinda stewing. So, first off, the BIG NEWS. I have decided to buy a house. I am gonna be a homeowner. How's THAT for cool? Boo ya! And I can afford a helluvalot more house than I thought I could. So there ya go. Kimmy's all grown up.

Next bit of news is that I'm actually decreasing my bar time. Which is a damn good thing considering how much cash I spend. That's another good thing bout the house buyin- it'll be much easier to not go out when I'm broke as hell. Plus I'll have home improvement projects to keep me busy. And I'll have a cat!!!! YAAAAAYYYYYY! Actually, I plan on getting 2. Cuz they're small. And cute. And they'll keep me company and life will be good. Damn skippy.

Not so much else has been goin on. I've kinda abandoned the idea that I'm gonna find someone to date. Which is kinda sucky on one hand, but on the other hand I feel sort of relieved. Pretty much just tired of the whole game playing bullshit.

Speaking of girls, Ama called me Tuesday night. I didn't answer, but she left a big ol voicemail askin how I was and such. Haven't decided if I'm gonna call her back or not.

    Need to Rave

No, not the X taking, light stick wavin, all night party thingy. Way too old for that. I need to commend someone that generally, I would not dig much. Hence, rave. Boo ya.

I wanna give kudos to Lynne Cheney, our second lady. As you all should damn well know by now, Lynne and Dick have a daughter named Mary that is an out lesbian. Dick has endorsed the marriage amendment. Mary has remained silent. Let me repeat- the dyke ain't talkin! And then Ms. Lynne Cheney, the VP's wife, publicly states that she disagrees with her husband. Her conservative husband. Imagine life in the Cheney household. Just for a sec. Does Dick seem like the new age sensitive feministy guy? Or more the good ol boy "Shut ya trap bitch!" kinda fella? I think Lynne deserves a nod. And a thanks. She has guts. Now if she'd just back Kerry...

    Checks. But no balance.

No court created by Act of Congress shall have any jurisdiction, and the Supreme Court shall have no appellate jurisdiction, to hear or decide any question pertaining to the interpretation of, or the validity under the Constitution of, section 1738C or this section.

The above is the text of the Marriage Protection Act 2004. In essence, it would prevent any court from hearing any case regarding DOMA. (Thats the defense of marriage act, passed under Clinton, in case you're not familiar).

I will be the first to admit that I have limited knowledge of the inner workings of our government.  I am not, nor have I ever been a poly sci type person. My last Civics class was completed in 1987. I have only the vaguest recollection of even taking Civics. But I do remember the basic fundamentals of our government. 3 branches- executive, legislative and judicial. The executive branch is the President. Kind of top dog. Head of the military. He can veto laws that the legislative branch has passed. Legislative is made up of the House and Senate. They write and vote on the laws. Judicial is made up of the courts. They interpret the laws and decide if they are constitutional. That's their job. Doing so does not make them "activist". It makes them a balance. Against power grabbing megalomaniacal asshats.

The legislature is blatantly attempting to limit the power of the judicial branch. In essence, they're making the courts obsolete. And the scariest part is that no one is screaming about it.
