- OK, yet another update. And this one has nothing to do with music, if ya can believe that, lol. I finally heard from the insurance company. They accepted me, so all is good in da hood. I'm having an absolutely fantastic day and just had to share the joy. WOOT!!

- Yes, I am on a major music kick. Deal. lol Anyways, this particular rave is bout Sheena Morris. She's an amazing musician starting her own label, and I think y'all should buy her CD as she's run into some financial difficulties and hell its only 8 FREAKIN BUCKS! And that includes shipping!! How can you go wrong? I bought it some months ago and it has become a fav. So email her here and tell her Kim sent ya ;o)
- Well freakin A, awsome music week for me, lol. Not only did I discover Noe Venable, I was also introduced to an extremely cool rock band out of OK. They're called Glytch and they rock in a big bad way! I met the keyboard player online and she sent me a link to the site. I am oh so impressed! So, that makes.... 5 new CD purchases this week. I really should start workin on the indie net radio station I'm always thinking about. Oh, and speaking of music, Leah, if you're still reading, leave a comment with your website again. I didn't get a chance to hear much from it and wanna be able to rave bout you too! K, off to be productive :o)

- I don't know what the hell happened to the comments, but I got em back after much fiddling and foul language.
- Well I managed to get through a Thursday without going downtown. Of course we didn't go downtown because we had way way way too much to drink at the wing bar. But still. lol Was all Eth's fault. (isn't it always?) I think he ordered 4 pitchers of shots. There were only 4 of us there. Nuff said. I did refuse quite a few shots tho. Was drunk, but not terribly trashed till Karen decided to make sure I couldn't function, lol. Did a damn good job too she did. We did have a good time tho. I wonder what the people down there think of us, lol. A hodgepodge assortment of stylish gay boi, girly dyke, semi butch straight girl and semi femme straight girl all singing I Will Survive at the tops o our lungs. Toasting to some random man's comment bout being desperate and basically making asses of ourselves. Tonight I'm goin out with the girls. We'll see if I can resist the temptation to go to Donny's, lol. Its either that or a movie, and I've been jonesin some ass shakin time, so I'm guessing Donny's it will be. Will not be flirtin with any cuties tho. Well, unless they start it, lol. Thats allowable.
In other news, I have an appointment with a lawyer on the 26th to see about this whole landlord situation. Gotta pay $85 just for the consultation, but its better than being roped into payin $500 to repair the carpet, so there ya go. Still haven't heard from the insurance people, which is beginning to worry me. But at least I haven't gotten a rejection letter yet, tho I'm not gonna worry too much yet. No sense worryin bout what hasn't happened right? So now I'm off to rent a carpet cleaner and try to make the basement livable. Fun fun.

You are not Cary Grant. You are the EXTREMELY
INTELLIGENT YET CONSTANTLY UNDERESTIMATED
FEMALE LEAD, represented here by Audrey Hepburn
and Eva Marie Saint. You never get the credit
you are due, but a growing number of saavy film
viewers can plainly see that you were the real
brains behind the operation.

- A little late for an update, but I had to tell y'all bout the show I just saw. For those of you that don't know, I'm a bit of a music freak. Particularly the girls with guitars type genre. I check the websites of the local clubs that feature live music, and last week I saw that Noe Venable, Michelle Grim and Jenna Nichols were playing at The Quiet Storm. I checked out Noe's site, which has bunches of mp3s on it, listened to Prettiness and promptly fell in love. I emailed the crew and basically demanded that they all go to the show with me. I think everyone enjoyed it. The girls left a little early, but I think they had lovin on their minds, so it was understandable, lol. Jenna played first, solo, and was pretty good. She ended with an awesome cover of Don't You Forget About Me from the Breakfast Club soundtrack. And child o the 80's would much approve :) I would have gotten a CD, but I don't think she had any available. I think she may be local tho, so I'll keep an eye out for her. Next up was Michelle Grim playin with Frank Spadafora. They would have been really good but for the fact that they had tecnological problems throughout their set. Kinda sucked, because I think I really would have enjoyed them. Last up was Noe, and she ROCKED! I was like spellbound. She has that energy. Like when she plays, she's not even in the room, she's off in her own little world somewhere. Has great stage presence. She reminds me a little of Danielle Howle in mannerisms. Not quite as annimated as Danielle tho. Her songs remind me a little of Danielle too, especially Juniper. That one's basically a darker Tops of Trees. Her sound is a cross between Danielle, Kristen Hersh and a little Jill Sobule. Was an awesome show. Came home with three of her CDs, because based on the set she played, I couldn't possibly go wrong. Haven't listened to them all as of yet, but I might take em to work tomorrow. Been listening to Boots since I got home tho, and I'm not dissapointed. So I'm all in a WOOT WOOT kinda mood. Music is like life's blood to me, I can't imagine life without it. And now I got a little more to draw from. Go to her site and download a few MP3s. You'll thank me for it ;o)

Isn't it ironic, dontcha think? lol
- OK, someone explain this to me. "Free speech zone"? What the fuck? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought the WHOLE FRIGGIN COUNTRY was supposed to be a free speech zone. Isn't that what all the "patriots" are always spouting? At least in THIS country you can speak your mind. Sure ya can. Just do it over there in that little cage with all the rest of the godless heathen liberal hippy pinko commie fags. And have a lovely day :o) I simply do not understand the people that voted for this asshat. And I'm actually good friends with one of them. A biracial, bisexual, card carrying Republican. I know, its like oxymoron after oxymoron, lol. I was discussing the current administration with my good friend Aimee via email the other day and she had this to say:
"I can't understand why you don't like bush. Other than the immense nail on chalk board way his voice bothers me, and how he stutters through a speech, and how he makes up words, and how he spreads our military thin and than blames the democrats for not having enough military, and how he got us into a war we can't get out of and should have waited on, and how his cabinet can't agree on things publicily, and how he has made the threat of terrorism so much worse by comparing the war in afghanistan and iraq to a crusade, and how he thinks government and religion can mix well, how he thinks unemployment going down has nothing to do with the fact that people are giving up finding jobs, how he gave us tax breaks but increased spending, how he thinks big government is bad but increased the amount of government involvement, how he thinks there is nothing wrong with his v.p's former company getting all the iraq contracts, OH! and how he spent any chance of us having any sort of retirement, and PLEASE don't forget his lovely attorney general ashcroft ushering in a new era of mccarthyism, ooh and simply having secretary of defense dumdick, his administration really isn't that bad. I think you should give it another chance.
you really need to keep an open mind, kim."
Gotta love her.

- Palko's was, as expected, a blast. My fingers still hurt from playing so much, lol. Was much fun. Not much else to report. My landlady finally got someone in to take care of the drain in the basement. She's charging me for it, which I think is a load of shit, but the $165 ain't worth goin to court over so I'll just pay it. If she thinks I'm goin to pay to replace the carpet she has another thing comin tho.
Didn't go out to celebrate the big 6 months of singledom anniversary. Had planned to, but just wasn't in the mood. The bars are gettin real tired. Gonna take a break from that BS for awhile.
