I had plans to wite a big ol rant on an article Rach told me about that compares gay rights activists to Islamic fundamentalists. You can find the article here. So I went and read it, fully expecting to work up a big ol chunck o pissed offedness which I could then vent here for you, my loyal readers. But ya know what? That guys just stupid. I can't argue with him because his arguments lack any semblance of logic. Pretty much boils down to OOOO SCARY HOMOS! Same ol same ol. Schools are gonna teach kids to be gay. Anyone portraying a married couple as a man and woman will be sued by the evil queers. The church will fall. America will be in ruins. Death and destruction and blah blah blah. Um yeah. Whatever. I want some of whatever he's been smoking, thats all I gotta say.

So on to more interesting stuff. Like my (almost) daily Kim's life update. Woot woot! Went to the Saloon with Ama and the girls last night. Was much fun. I generally don't frequent the Saloon cuz o the creep population, but they have tables and Smouse is mobility challenged, so figd it'd be a good choice. We just hung out and BSd and laughed like hell. Good times, good times. As per usual, people I didn't recognize came and said hi. One way drunk girl, think her name was leslie. She's friends with ass Brian (formerly known as cute brian), and I was all shades o drawing a blank. Eventually I placed her tho, lol. Then some other girl, think she's Jimmy's friend. Then a guy that works at Pegs came over and introduced himself and went on this big speil about how cool I am and yadda yadda yadda. Do you have any idea how freaking weird it is to be me and have stuff like that happen? Seriously, half the time I feel like I'm living a Twilight Zone episode. Oh, and I made friends with some random gay man at the bar that, of course, insisted on calling me Annie and comparing me to every other woman in the bar to determine if I was in fact the hottest chick there. I want some of what he was smoking too, lol. My life has become way bizarre. But fun, I do gotta admit.

So the girls left round 1, which was Ama's curfew. Well, was supposed to be. But of course, we stayed. Hung at the Saloon till they kicked our asses out. Does the story end there? Well of course not! Hullo, Tilden is right upstairs! AND they have a dance floor. So up to Tilden we went. Danced till they kicked us out. Prolly a good thing da Burgh doesn't have an all night dance club (or at least doesn't have one that I know about) cuz we prolly woulda been out till dawn. As it is, I got home round 4:30 I think. Good lawd! So there ya have it, the big update. Oh, and mental note: I need to buy myself some willpower damnit. Do they stock that at Walmart ya think?

    Oh for Christ's sake.

What the hell. Saw this on yahoo news. Apparently the Catholics are in an uproar because opening day at Fenwick Park falls on good Friday. So what you say? Well good Lord! That means they can't have a HOT DOG! The TRAVESTY! The INJUSTICE! Quote from the article:
"I would hope it was just an oversight when they were doing the schedule," Coyne told the Boston Herald. "I think it's very insensitive to the huge number of people who are Christians and fans."

Right. Because everything should be scheduled around your personal religious dogma. Give me a fucking break. And people wonder why I refuse to call myself a Christian.

YAAAAYYYYYY! Its Friday, and I don't gotta work today! Neener neener neener! I KNOW y'all are jealous!
So went to Jiggers last night with Kev, Mike, the girls and Kev's folks. Cool folks they are too. How many parents you know give their gay son a Bday card with scantily clad men on it hmm? Not too damn many! So, twas an evening of big girl beers, followed by a me an the girls pizza party at my place. Woot woot! Yep, Kim was a teensy bit trashed. Just a wee. Much fun tho. Watched Most Extreme Challenge. Too fucking funny.

    Possible TMI Alert:
This morn, I was perusing Flea's blog, One Good Thing, as I do every morning cuz, well, flea rocks, and I decided to check out the Honeysuckle Shop, which is a sex toy store owned by flea and her husband and based in Chicago. So I'm browsing and giggling, cuz ya know, sex toys are funny, and I find this. The Audi-Oh. A sound controlled vibrator. You can now have sex with your CD player! Imagine the possibilities! I may never date again.

Blogger is down. So is TBlog. So I have had to start my day without One Good Thing, or FrogBlog, or The Winding Sheet, etc etc. Grrrr. And I have a knot the size of my head in my right shoulder. Musta slept way fucky. Other than that, I am in a way good mood tho. Don’t know if it’s the sunshine, or the impending weekend, or the promise of big girl beers and laughs this evening. Or maybe they spiked my coffee with Prozac. Whatever, it works, lol. I choose not to question the good things in life, ya know?

I have been the biggest freakin slackass this week. I have done nothing but go to work, come home, eat and sleep. That’s it. No laundry, no work on the station, no nothing. What’s that about? And no bars this week. I know, shocking right? I’m in my over it stage. I’ll be back to party mode next week I’m sure. Or tomorrow. Depending on funds ;o). I am feeling the urge to go shake my ass.

Monday is the Girls concert! Woot muthafuckin woot! I haven’t seen em in years. Shit, when was the last time I saw em? Mich Fest? Damn, I think it WAS Mich Fest. That was in 2000. That can’t be right can it? 4 years, no Girls? Da hell? Ah well, matters not, I’m seein em in 4 days. Maybe Amy Ray will realize she’s fated to be my wife. Ya think? Yeah, me neither, lol. I’m telling ya tho. One of these days….

This shall be my very first Girls concert while single. Awww yeah. Kimmy’s on the hunt! I figure I’ll wear my Alix Olson shirt- girls seem to dig that one. Might have to hit Donny’s post-concert. I’d think they’ll have a pretty good crowd.

It is now 9am. Blogger is still down. Asshats.

    Once more with feeling!

I know. I have been through the same sex marriage argument. I have bitched, moaned, whined, complained, argued and ranted. One would think had said everything that needed to be said. Apparently one would be wrong.

I had no plan to revisit the same sex marriage debate. At least not until the next major development. Then I read this. Mr. Orson Scott Card (whoever the hell he is) has written a lovely little piece on SSM and the complete and utter downfall of civilization that will befall us should this terrifying affront become reality. Damn those heathens anyways!

So lets look at what Mr. Card has to say.

On the Mass Supreme Court ruling:
Do you want to know whose constitutional rights are being violated? Everybody's. Because no constitution in the United States has ever granted the courts the right to make vast, sweeping changes in the law to reform society.

It had admittedly been a long time since I took a civics class. But I'm *pretty* sure that the role the Mass Court has played in the SSM debate is exactly the role they are supposed to play in our government. They declared that denying same sex couples marriage licenses in turn denied them of equal protection and therefore is unconstitutional. That's what they're supposed to do. Interpret the law. Decide if its constitutional. That's their whole. fucking. job.

On gays being denied the right of marriage:
Any homosexual man who can persuade a woman to take him as her husband can avail himself of all the rights of husbandhood under the law. And, in fact, many homosexual men have done precisely that, without any legal prejudice at all.

Ditto with lesbian women. Many have married men and borne children. And while a fair number of such marriages in recent years have ended in divorce, there are many that have not.

Well of course. The best way to protect the sanctity of marriage is to make it a contract between two strangers and remove all the unnecessary emotional rigamarole. I mean, this is MARRIAGE we're talking about right? In the immortal word of Ms. Tina- What's love got to do, got to do with it?

On the current state of the American family:
Most broken or wounded families are in that condition because of a missing father. There is substantial and growing evidence that our society's contempt for the role of the father in the family is responsible for a massive number of "lost" children.

Only when the father became powerless or absent in the lives of huge numbers of children did we start to realize some of the things people need a father for: laying the groundwork for a sense of moral judgment; praise that is believed so that it can instill genuine self-confidence.

As to the first part, you are absolutely correct Mr. Card. I couldn't agree more. Most broken families are the result of a missing father. So how bout you spend some energy convincing your fellow fathers to maybe stick around and take responsibility for their children? Oh, that's right! Its much easier to blame broken families on women or gays or the liberal media or whatever other stupid ass excuse you can come up with. Can't possibly be that (some) men are irresponsible fuckwits now could it? Course not! And of course the poor addle-headed females are incapable of providing any sense of morals or believable praise. I mean really. They have OVARIES for Jeebus sake!

    On men and monogamy:
Monogamy depends on the vast majority of society both openly and privately obeying the rules. Since the natural reproductive strategy for males is to mate with every likely female at every opportunity, males who are not restrained by social pressure and expectations will soon devolve into a sort of Clintonesque chaos, where every man takes what he can get.

This differs from the current state of affairs how? And WTF does it have to do with SSM?

    On the definition of family:
We've already seen similar attempts at redefinition. The ideologues have demanded that we stop defining "families" as Dad, Mom, and the kids. Now any grouping of people might be called a "family."

But this doesn't turn them into families, or even make rational people believe they're families. It just makes it politically unacceptable to use the word family in any meaningful way.

Well of course they aren't families! Dad dies, leaving mom with the kids? Not a family! Child raised by grandparents? Not a family! Hetero couple without children? Not a family! Hell, I'll go so far as to say a couple whose children are in college aren't a family. How could they be? No kids in the house- no family.

    On the definition of marriage:
But homosexual "marriage" is an act of intolerance. It is an attempt to eliminate any special preference for marriage in society -- to erase the protected status of marriage in the constant balancing act between civilization and individual reproduction.

So if my friends insist on calling what they do "marriage," they are not turning their relationship into what my wife and I have created, because no court has the power to change what their relationship actually is.

Instead they are attempting to strike a death blow against the well-earned protected status of our, and every other, real marriage.

They steal from me what I treasure most, and gain for themselves nothing at all. They won't be married. They'll just be playing dress-up in their parents' clothes.

Yeah, it *is* an attempt to eliminate special preference. I don't ever remember hearing "With liberty and justice for those with a preferred status card" in any classes. It is the preferential treatment itself that we fight against. I don't care if you call it marriage, civil unions, big homo love fest, whatever. I pay taxes. I am a citizen of these United States. As such, I deserve all the same rights and priviledges that you do. Equal protection. Constitution. We'll gain nothing? Right. There are over 1,000 federal benefits given to married couples. Social security? Inheritance? Immigration? Hullo? Seriously, ya just can't be that stupid.

    On schooling and recruitment:
Already any child with any kind of sexual attraction to the same sex is told that this is an irresistible destiny, despite the large number of heterosexuals who move through this adolescent phase and never look back.

Already any child with androgynous appearance or mannerisms -- effeminite boys and masculine girls -- are being nurtured and guided (or taunted and abused) into "accepting" what many of them never suspected they had -- a desire to permanently move into homosexual society.

In other words, society will bend all its efforts to seize upon any hint of homosexuality in our young people and encourage it.

Androgynous children are taunted into becoming homos? REALLY? Where the hell did YOU go to school? Cuz lemme tell ya bout my experience- society certainly does seize upon any hint of homosexuality. And they try to beat it out of you. Verbally, mentally, emotionally and physically. Gay teens are 3X more likely to attempt suicide than their straight counter parts. Cuz they are so *encouraged*. Take a deep breath. Smell that? Its reality.

    On homosexuality in general:
The dark secret of homosexual society -- the one that dares not speak its name -- is how many homosexuals first entered into that world through a disturbing seduction or rape or molestation or abuse, and how many of them yearn to get out of the homosexual community and live normally.

It's that desire for normality, that discontent with perpetual adolescent sexuality, that is at least partly behind this hunger for homosexual "marriage."

They are unhappy, but they think it's because the rest of us "don't fully accept them."

A "disturbing seduction"? Well, I can't speak for all homos, but I gotta say my "seduction" into the realm of Lesbos was far from disturbing. It was, in actuality, a relief. I wasn't alone. I wasn't a freak, or unworthy, or undesirable, or frigid, or a bitch, or any of the other boxes your society tried to stuff me in. I was a dyke. Simple. And for the record, I am very happy. Happy with my life, my family, my job, my friendships, my dykeness. I don't give a rat's ass if you accept me or not. You don't have to accept me. You don't have to like me, or approve of my "lifestyle", or officiate at my (eventual) wedding. But you gotta give me my rights. Because this is America. And that's what we do.

Jiggers tomorrow for Kev's Bday. Woot! Laura is supposed to be coming, so a good time is pretty much assured. Last time we all went to Jiggers I laughed so damn hard my stomach muscles hurt for days afterwards. I could use some humor, so good timing sez me.

Not to much to update you on. Went home last night, ate dinner, crashed on the couch till 9:30, then got up and chatted with Ama and Cyn a bit. Kinda on the bummed side, but I'll get over it. Supposed to be going to Meadville this weekend to see Linda, but not sure if that's actually gonna happen or not. Depends on when I get paid. Yeah, I am currently like $200 in the hole. Oops. And I have no clue how it happened, but oh well. I'll figure it out. And shit, I have enough change in my house to live on for weeks, so no big major deal.

Have I mentioned recently that I'm ready for spring? SOOOO freakin ready. This winter shit sucks ass. Oh so over it. So. Over. It.

I have had Stolen Thing by Noe Venable stuck in my head for goin on 24 hours. Typically that would be just cause to beat my head repeatedly against a large solid object until I dislodged the offending melody or lapsed into the sweet silence of unconsiousness, but for some reason it hasn't bothered me yet. It has become the soundtrack for the week, lol. Maybe I should switch CDs in the blazer so as to prevent over play. Actually, I should be listening to the new Girls CD since the concert is Monday, but considering I haven't even bought it yet, not really an option. I'm such a slacker. I'm kinda bummed they aren't playin the fest this year but oh well. Can't have everything right? All good tho, I'll just have to fawn over Alix Olson. Oo- better yet, Ani Difranco. She's gonna be in a musical rendition of Hothead Paisan. That oughta be interesting. Maybe I can run away from home an become a roadie. lol. Yeah. I'm SO cut out for that. Would be fun to travel tho.

Blahsy blah. What else? Oh, I am anxiously awaiting a phone call from Eth. He had some car trouble last night which culminated in leaving it on the side of the road and walking to a friend of Dr. Mike's. Sounded like a none too good situation. I'm a bit worried, but haven't gotten a call to bail him out of jail or anything, so figure he's ok. And speak o the devil. He just called. His car is kinda fucked, but he's all right, so all good. Woot woot!

The line up for this years Mich Fest has finally been announced. I am SO there! Was supposed to go alone way back in the day, but then I met Krys and plans went to hell. This year I am goin hell or high water, girlfriend or no, I don't give a rats ass. Damnit. lol. Think I may get myself a new tent. And I need a solar shower. The whole showering in the middle of a field surrounded by a few thousand strangers is a bit nerve wracking. Doable, but nerve wracking. The whole clothing optional thing is a bit of a trip. Takes a little getting used to, just having some random naked woman start a conversation bout the weather or what not. I may even wander the twilight zone this time round. Kinda wussed out last time. Of course, if I go alone, I'll prolly wuss this time too. Sooo excited tho. Alix Olson and Pamela Means are playing Wednesday night. Pamela Means actually recently sent me a CD for the station. Which of course I have yet to do anything with. But still pretty fuckin cool. Think I'm gonna get a few hundred stickers printed for staion promo stuff and hand em out. Maybe make some Tshirts. Woot woot!

Jesus is stalking me. Think I'm kiddin? Check this lil note He wrote me:

    My Precious Friend

I am sending this letter by one of my disciples. I just wanted to let
you know how much I love you and care about you and how I greatly desire
to become a meaningful part of your life.

This morning when you awoke, I was already there with you in the light of
my beautiful sunrise that filled your room. I was hoping you would say
"Good Morning" to me; you didn't. So, I thought maybe it was a little
too early in the day to notice me!

Again I tried to get your attention when you stepped out your door. I kissed
your face with a soft gentle breeze. I breathed upon you my fragrant sweet
breath of scented flowers. Then I sang you a love song through the birds
in the trees. You walked right past me!

Later on in the day. I watched over you as you were talking with some of
your friends. Oh..how I wished you would talk to me also. I waited and
waited, but you just went along your way.

This afternoon I sent you a refreshing shower and glistened to you from every
raindrop. I even shouted to you a time or two with thunder trying to get your
attention. Then, I painted you a lovely rainbow in the midst of my fluffy
white clouds. I knew you would see me then, but you were unaware of my presence.

This evening, to close the day, I sent you a beautiful sunset. After that, I
winked at you a thousand times through my stars hoping that you would wink
    back; you never did.

Tonight, when you went to bed, I spilled moonlight upon your face to let you
know that I was there with you. I was hoping that you would talk to me a
little while before you went to sleep. You never said a word, it hurt me
deeply; however, I continued to watch over you all through the night thinking
maybe, just maybe, you would say "Hello" to me in the morning.

Each and everyday I have revealed myself to you in many strange and
wondrous ways, hoping that you would accept me as your shepherd.
For, I am the only one that can supply you with all your needs.
My love for you is deeper than the deepest ocean and bigger than the great
blue sky. I have so very much to give you and also share with you.

Girlydyke , please let me hear from you soon!
    Your Loving Friend,
    Jesus

Tell me THAT ain't just a little bit creepy! All with the kisses and the winks and revealing Himself? Being the son of God an all, you'd think he'd realize I don't go for boys, lol. Want in on the action? Go here.

Well thus far this morning has gone pretty much as expected. Launchcast was down for a couple hours and Winamp fucked my puter up, so I was tuneless. Not good. Launchcast is back up now tho, so thats a good thing.
I have gotten a minimum of work done. Gonna have to kick it into high gear after lunch. Think I have a ton of drafting work comin my way and gotta get all this training/OSHA shit outta the way first. Yeehaw! I am currently starving, freezing and sore as hell. But think my mood is improving. Slowly.

Have no motivation whatsoever this morn. Slept for shit, so still tired. If I didn't know better I'd swear I'm premenstrual, lol. Just all shades o grr at the world this morn. Stupid snow. Tonight I will get at least one of 2 things done- kitchen floor or website. Done. I ain't playin. Oh, and I'm gonna finish my laundry too damnit. I know, how exciting right? lol. Oy vey I is a sleepy girl! You'd think the 2 hour nap I took this afternoon woulda fixed my ass right up but nope. What a waste o space I was today, lol. Lumped on the couch pretty much all damn day, cept for a run to Walmart this afternoon. Lil tip, me to you- don't ever ever ever go to Walmart on a Sunday afternoon. You'll lose all hope for humanity I swear. By the time I gathered all my goods and got da hell outta there I was ready to bludgeon people to death with a frozen turkey. Seriously. Gah. People irritate me, lol.

Had a most enjoyable evening last night. Took Ama to Donny's. Was pretty dead when we first got there, but picked up as the night went on. Beth, the bipolar bartender was all shades o chatty. All comin up "Hi!" like I'm her long lost best friend or some shit, lol. Apparently she didn't remember that she can't stand me. Actually, my personal theory is that she wanted an intro to Ama. Its amazing how much nicer peeps are to ya when you're hangin with a hottie, lol. We hung out with Eth for an hour or so, then he went out on the hunt and we hit the dance floor. Damn but that girl is a good dancer! I'm hard pressed to keep up with her, lol. We danced till we couldn't take the DJs suckiness anymore, then went to the lower bar for a shot. Ama inadvertently stole some dyke's seat, but she was pretty cool. Bought us slippery nipples. Forget her name. Janet maybe? Something like that. Finally left the bar at like 1ish I think? Got to play good samaritan to a carload of lost lesbians. Woot woot.

Was gonna work on the station today, which I really really need to do. I have 4 new submissions to add to the playlist an the site. I was supposed to finish my laundry and mop my kitchen floor too. Yeah, didn't do a damn thing, lol. Well, I did make dinner. And the beginnings of a pot o homemade chicken soup. Thats tomorrows project. That an moppin the floor. Laundry can wait, I only have a couple loads. Right now I'm off to see bout gettin the station updated. Go me!
